(Sorry if this is something glaringly obvious I'm missing- I've literally just starting using this tonight, so I'm still pretty much in the "haphazardly poking at buttons and running to the internet every thirty seconds" stage. Is there either a way to make my text curve vertically, or to do it letter-by-letter but ensuring they all line up right? The only way I can see around it is creating the text letter-by-letter, and attaching each letter to the path, but when I tried it didn't line up evenly. I can get the text attached to the path, but regardless of what I do, the text doesn't go the right direction (thus far the best I've gotten out of it is from reversing the path, which puts the text right-side-up on the bottom of the curve. See how letter spacing works differently, like the text. This is a video showing how the tool works if youre interested. The easy way to break text objects into individual letter objects is to use Extensions>Text>Split text. Im aware there are similar tools in Photoshop, Illustrator, Corel, etc for you to take a look, but Inkscape is free and open source, so Id love if you could take a look there. Text can be converted to paths (curves), but that isn't always needed for simple transforms. I'm designing a logo that needs to have text curved ("Howling Wolf"), vertically, along a crescent. I used Inkscape tool 'Text > Put on Path'. Hi all I've just gotten started using inkscape, so of course I manage to get myself into something I can't Google my way out of the first try
